Vishnu Sahasranama Chanting

Deity: Lord Vishnu · Source: Mahabharata (Anushasana Parva) · Advanced
विष्णु सहस्रनाम स्तोत्रम्
Transliteration

The Vishnu Sahasranama is the recitation of Vishnu's thousand names, each a different dimension of his infinite qualities. From the Mahabharata, it is among the highest forms of Vedic worship and devotional practice.

ॐ

Reciting or listening to the Sahasranama immerses the mind in an ocean of Vishnu's qualities — protection, preservation, grace, dharma, beauty. The effect is cumulative: over time the practitioner recognizes those qualities in daily life rather than only in prayer.
