About This Practice
Breathe slowly and use each exhale as a deliberate, conscious return to the Self — a practice of homecoming, not focus technique.
The Bhagavad Gita 6.26 teaches: yato yato nishcharati manaḥ — wherever the mind wanders, bring it back, again and again, to the Self. This return is not effort against the mind; it is the natural pratyahara (withdrawal) of the Yoga tradition — the drawing of scattered energy back toward its source. Each exhale in this practice is a gesture of pratyāvartana: turning back, returning home. Unlike techniques that build concentration, this practice is a repeated act of remembrance — the Self was never absent; every exhale is a recognition of its presence.

How to Practice
- Sit or lie down in a comfortable position; close your eyes.
- Inhale slowly and naturally, without controlling the breath.
- On the exhale, say inwardly: ‘I return.’
- On each exhale, silently say ‘I Return’ — once, without force.
- Continue for 3–5 minutes: each inhale is receiving, each exhale is returning.
- At the end, rest for a moment in the stillness that follows the last exhale.
