"Begin Before The Rush"

Daily Sankalp · Mitra v3.0 Stub · Beginner
The Sankalp

I rise early and begin before the world makes its demands on me.

Brahma-muhurta — the auspicious hours before dawn — is considered the most potent time for inner work because the mind has not yet been colonized by the day's noise. Tapas applied to the morning means the deliberate choice to claim that window rather than sleep through it. What is begun in that stillness tends to carry a different quality of attention throughout the day.

✦
  1. Start one important thing before the day's demands arrive.
  2. The early start belongs entirely to you — uncontested and clear.
  3. What you begin before the rush is yours; what you begin during it is the rush's.
  • Uninterrupted focus
  • Sense of accomplishment before noon
  • Ownership of the day
