I remember Ganesha first — not as a preference among gods, but as the ground every beginning passes through.

Why This Matters

The Ganapati Atharvashirsha places Ganesha at the muladhara — the base, the first threshold consciousness passes through. Tradition reads his being worshipped first not as one deity outranking another, but as a matter of position: whatever is to rise must first pass the base. The same text also calls him the four levels of speech, so that every invocation, every mantra, is already spoken within him.
