"Today, I practice gentleness in this bond."
The Sankalp
With the person closest to me — spouse, child, parent, friend — I practice gentleness even when the old pattern would sharpen my voice or tighten my shoulders.
Why This Matters
Ahimsa in the relational field is not absence of disagreement; it is disagreement held in gentleness. The Yoga-Sūtra (2.35) teaches ahimsā-pratiṣṭhāyām — when one is established in ahimsa, hostility ceases in the proximity. Growth × relationships sankalp is daily cultivation of that steadiness. The vow is not to never feel sharpness but to not reach for it as the first instrument.
