"I Choose The Least Harmful Duty"

Daily Sankalp · Mitra v3.0 Stub · Beginner
The Sankalp

When duties conflict, I choose the path that causes the least harm.

Ahimsa — non-harming — and Dharma do not always point in the same direction, and the Gita acknowledges this tension honestly. When duty requires a difficult action, the guiding question becomes: which path, carried out with care, causes the least damage to all beings involved? This is not moral cowardice — it is the sober wisdom of someone who takes consequences seriously.

✦
  1. When all options carry some cost, choose the one with the least harm.
  2. Perfect choices are rare; the least harmful choice is always available.
  3. Ahiṃsā within duty means minimizing the wound, not avoiding the act.
  • Integrity in hard choices
  • Reduced harm
  • Clear conscience
