"I Witness Before Interpreting"

Daily Sankalp · Mitra v3.0 Stub · Beginner
The Sankalp

Before I decide what something means, I pause and simply witness what is.

The witness sees clearly; interpretation is what comes afterward — and often too fast. When we collapse observation and interpretation into a single reflex, we react to our story about what happened rather than to what actually happened. Practicing the gap between witnessing and meaning-making creates space for more accurate perception and more grounded responses.

✦
  1. When something happens, pause before the story forms.
  2. Let the raw event sit for a breath before you decide what it means.
  3. Interpretation follows — witnessing comes first.
  • Clarity
  • Fewer distorted reactions
  • Equanimity
