"Today, I notice this breath as a gift."
The Sankalp
The breath is moving without my effort — it was moving before I noticed, it will keep moving whether I attend or not — and I let the noticing itself be my gratitude.
Why This Matters
The Taittirīya Upaniṣad names ānanda-maya-kośa — the body-sheath of bliss beneath the more surface sheaths. Breath, arriving unearned, is the first daily evidence of that giftedness. Joy-register health sankalp is not 'I regulate my breath' (that is practice) but 'I notice that breath is already given.' The noticing is the offering.
