"Today, I offer the craft as worship."
The Sankalp
The work of my hands, the focus of my mind, the skill that has ripened in me — I place it all at the feet of what is larger than me.
Why This Matters
Bhagavad Gītā 2.47 teaches karmaṇy-evādhikāras te — the action is yours, the fruit is not. When the work itself becomes the offering, the craft is no longer a transaction with outcome. It is arpaṇa, a devotional act rendered with the body's skill. Joy arrives because the offering has already been received in the doing.
✦
How to Live This Today
- Before a work session, name what you are offering it to.
- When the task is complete, do not measure it — release it.
- Let the doing itself be enough, and let the doing be the prayer.
- Return to the craft the next day as one returns to a shrine.
Benefits
- Work becomes less transactional
- Outcome anxiety softens
- Skill ripens through devotion rather than pressure
- Joy is not delayed to completion
