Emotional Healing
"Today, I witness myself with kindness."
The Sankalp
I observe what arises in me — the tightness, the fear, the old story — and I meet it with the warmth of a compassionate witness, not the coldness of a judge.
Why This Matters
Sakshi bhava — witnessing awareness — is the teaching of the Upanishads: you are the unmoving witness behind all thought and feeling. But the Dharmic tradition equally holds karuna — compassion — as an essential quality of right living. When these two meet, the inner witness is not cold or dissociating: it sees clearly and responds with warmth. This sankalp draws the practitioner toward a witnessing that is both clear-eyed (sakshi) and tender (karuna), dissolving the harshness of self-judgment without losing the clarity of self-observation.
