Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you want to know about KalpX, Sanatan practice, and how the app works.

About KalpX

What is KalpX?

KalpX is a daily spiritual practice app rooted in Sanatan Dharma. It helps modern Indian professionals and NRIs build a consistent daily practice through chanting (japa), sankalp (intention setting), live sessions with guides, and structured practice programs.

Is KalpX free?

Yes. The core features — Quick Chant, daily sankalp, and access to Mitra — are free. Some guided programs and live sessions with teachers may have a fee set by the guide who runs them.

Who is KalpX for?

KalpX is built for modern Indian professionals and NRIs who want to maintain a daily Sanatan practice. If you grew up with tradition but lost the daily thread, or if you live outside India and find it hard to stay connected, KalpX is for you.

How is KalpX different from Headspace or Calm?

Headspace and Calm are built on Western mindfulness — they remove the cultural and spiritual roots and offer only the technique. KalpX is built on Sanatan Dharma: mantras, sankalp, japa, inner intention. The practices are authentic to the tradition, not simplified for a generic audience.

Is KalpX a religious app?

KalpX is a practice app rooted in Sanatan Dharma — but it is not a religious enforcement platform. We do not tell you what to believe or how to worship. We offer tools for practice, and you choose what resonates. The app is open to anyone who approaches these practices sincerely.

Practices and Features

What is a sankalp?

Sankalp is a Sanskrit word meaning a conscious resolve or spiritual intention — a decision, made with full awareness, to commit to a specific practice or direction. In KalpX, your sankalp guides the kind of practice Mitra (our AI companion) suggests for you each day. It is not a goal in the productivity sense; it is a living commitment to yourself.

What is japa? What is Quick Chant?

Japa is the repetitive chanting of a mantra — a sacred sound or phrase — as a form of devotional practice. KalpX's Quick Chant feature gives you a digital japa mala (a virtual counting tool) so you can chant any mantra, track repetitions, and build a daily streak. It's the simplest way to start a daily practice.

What mantras are available on KalpX?

KalpX includes a curated library covering major mantras across Sanatan traditions — including Hanuman Chalisa, Gayatri Mantra, Om Namah Shivaya, Mahamrityunjaya Mantra, Shri Ram Jay Ram, and many more. The library is continuously growing.

What is Mitra?

Mitra is KalpX's AI companion — trained specifically on Sanatan context, not generic wellness scripts. Mitra helps you reflect on your practice, suggests what to do next based on your sankalp and journey, and provides guidance rooted in the tradition. Mitra is not a therapist or doctor — it is a practice companion.

What are programs on KalpX?

Programs are structured practice journeys — typically 7, 21, or 40 days — led by experienced guides. Each program has a theme (mantra practice, sankalp building, inner path exploration) and includes daily content, live sessions, and community support. You can browse and join programs from the Programs section of the app.
