Gayatri Mantra
oṃ bhūr bhuvaḥ svaḥ tat savitur vareṇyaṃ bhargo devasya dhīmahi dhiyo yo naḥ pracodayāt
The Gayatri Mantra, from the Rig Veda, invokes the divine light of Savitur, the sun god. It sharpens intellect, enhances clarity, and fosters spiritual awakening. Chanting at dawn or midday aligns the mind with universal wisdom, promoting focus and insight. Regular practice improves concentration and decision-making in daily life.
The Gayatri is not a request for light — it is a recognition of the light that already is. 'Dhimahi' means we meditate upon; 'prachodayat' means may it illuminate. The practice is alignment: turning the mind toward the light of understanding so that it illuminates action.
